About the tutor
Hello! I’m Rochel Andrea, a dedicated Mathematics teacher with almost seven years of experience teaching both elementary and high school students. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management. Currently, I am an expat teacher in Indonesia, where I continue to expand my teaching expertise and work with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
I believe in Nelson Mandela’s powerful reminder that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This philosophy guides my approach in the classroom: making mathematics meaningful, accessible, and empowering for every student.
While I am equipped to teach different branches of mathematics, my passion and strengths are in Algebra and Geometry. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, engaging explanations that help students truly understand rather than simply memorize. My teaching style centers on creative and innovative presentations that make learning interactive, visually clear, and enjoyable.
To stay current in my field, I continuously explore new teaching strategies, digital tools, and global best practices in math education. I believe in adapting instruction to each student’s needs, ensuring they feel supported, confident, and motivated to succeed.
I am currently teaching IGCSE Mathematics and AS & A Level Mathematics to a Senior High School students in Surabaya, Indonesia. Before becoming an expat teacher, I gained valuable teaching experience in the Philippines across both elementary and secondary levels. I served at Don Jose Ynares Sr. Memorial National High School, where I taught General Mathematics to Senior High School students for one year. I also taught Grade 5 Mathematics at Calumpang Elementary School from year 2021 to 2023.
Earlier in my career, I spent two years at St. Martin Montessori School, Inc. in Angono, Rizal (2018–2020), teaching English, Mathematics, and Values Education to Grade 3 and Grade 4 learners. Throughout all these years, I have consistently provided tutoring after class—supporting students through remediation, enrichment, and advanced lessons. This continuous experience has strengthened my ability to meet diverse learning needs and guide students toward meaningful academic growth.
Let’s make mathematics your strength — one concept at a time.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong combination of experience, content mastery, creativity, and genuine care for student growth. My goal is to help learners build solid mathematical foundations, develop problem-solving skills, and see themselves as capable and confident math thinkers.
